If you haven't seen them before now, you've been living under a rock the last 2 weeks :P
or not seen the Dish/Stretch (http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=56&page=51) thread.

They were up on the Volk/Rays (http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/2009/news/index.php?id=198) site on 28/12/2009 and saw them at Impulse (http://ae86-parts.e-impulse.co.jp/) garage in the first week of January (in prep for official debut TAS)

I thought they were being "offically" lanched at TAS..? And would be on sale early feb.

Also in case you missed it.. 15x10 is 5.3 kg..!!!!!. Now if only they could work out a way to make tyres lighter we'd all be winners..

wow i dont see all the hype. quality yes. but that picture of the ae86 doesnt look all that crash hot . im still not yet convinced it works with a sprinter. .. time will tell.

The 15 x 7.5J +6 & 8.0J +0s recessed spokes (56mm lip) look a lot better on AE86 than the old 15 x 7.0J +0 & 8.0J +15
becuase they had flat/flush spokes (unlike the cool bulgey spokes on 14 x 7.0J +0).

But when you get to the larger widths like 15x 9.0J -15 & 9.5J -20 (with 82mm lip!) they really come into their element!
Pictured here trial fitted on the Impluse N2 Project (http://ae86-parts.e-impulse.co.jp/ae86/1293) a week prior to TAS.

The only thing that annoys me is that the sensible (realistic) sizes only have the smaller lip..... sucks that it doesn't increase in size with width and offset.... the 8.5's -5 would be awesome all round
I guess that's the downfall of a 1 piece wheel though....

Love them otherwise though, cant beat true performance wheels (that look so good)

Damn I only paid for my new rims yesterday. These would have been great.

Just my 2c but i dont think much of these rims either.

Just because the come in a nice size/offset dosnt mean they look good on an old school car. There basically a modern style rim in a good ofset.

Id much rather Work equip 01's on my car. And they totally ruin that GTR it'd be 1000x better with nice sized watanabes

i think bronze or darker colours will only justify on ae86...the chromie homie kills it

still wantanabes over these anyday

they just need to have the right accompanying aesthetic mods.

no one can say that TE37s were the wrong wheel for Ueo's car? nice modern style wide body fenders and kit, and it looked amazing. imagine the same car with 15x9s.

similarly a mint white kouki street style hachi would look perfect with some 15x8s, possible with some nice 195/45 tires.

Im the same but i got Watanabes on my Daily so my track car will most probably have something like these.

Also Brad what rims did u buy? and didnt u have like 2 sets of fairly new Work equips?

Man they look fucking awesome!

Nice deep lip too!

LittleRedSpirit
19th January 2010, 12:55 PM
To me they just lack the flair and design that went into the 1980s wheels from Japan.

I prefer the old TE37s to these.

--Redwork--
19th January 2010, 01:28 PM
I think you ppl that aren't into them just need to get used to seeing them...

I mean look at the traditional wheels most guys run.. xr4's, mk2's, and 3's If you showed these wheels to a normal car person they'd give you a strange look and tell you there fuckin ugly as...
Its just cause these wheel have become the accepted COOL thing to have on your car evey ones into them..
Once the new TE37's become more comon I think you haters will change your tune.

I personally like them in the bigger dish sizes... Have yet to see a picture of the 15x10 big lip rims though.. And the silver looks a little ricey...
But I'd buy some... when the price comes down alittle..

Couldn't agree more. There arnt to many options for good size and offset new.

i just think they are missing the rays stickers. they do look like copies without them. if u could flog the stickers off the old te37's to put on these they would look way better.
not bad price either. cant really go wrong with these at all.

19th January 2010, 03:50 PM
I don't like them.
But then again I didn't like the old TE37s really either in most cases.

19th January 2010, 10:43 PM
These are the freshest rim design for small rwd's in a long time.

Im not one to like new school rims, TE37s would be the only exception. Problem being they didnt look good in the fat width...

The haters dont see the true potential.

trueno85
20th January 2010, 09:58 AM
would be better if they came in 14s
