My guess is that it held a torch that you could use when changing fuses - any other ideas?
Wish I had an owners manual.

Its about the right size for it - just looked it up, yep that would be it. Could be handy if you dorifto off a mountain.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif lol, Its an import, but the flare has been removed http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif I'm just loving all the little gadgets its got though, like the cassette holder, cornering lamps, illuminated speakers, fade-out horn (sounds like a train going past), little box that tells you a tail light is out. Automatic AC is cool, watching the the levers behind the dash move by themselves - spooky http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Didn't get the little plastic information card thing on the drivers door though.

its for a road flare.

dont bother hunting down a jap one to put in there as it works out to be quite dangerous with the australian sun.
as there is a possibility that the heat in a locked up hachi int he sun could set it off.

Sounds like a job for Mythbusters. Keeping pyrotechnics in the car doesn't seem like a good idea though. Would like to find maglite that will fit that holder instead.

Haha, I found a cut in half piece of the same type of kick panel in the tool-hole part of my ae86, just didn't have the actuall clips, just holes for them.

Was always wondering what the hell it was, now I know. So much random JDM shit through my car.

I wanted a flare http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif
