Well that was short lived......

He's not just using his old car for Irwindale like Taniguchi and Miki did last time (or the time before, lol)

id say this would have happened due to sponsors
just like alot of people change cars.
they simply have to, to keep doing what they love doing.

doesnt mean hes no longer driving 86's

19th December 2006, 06:21 PM
yep changed due to sponsered ride i hear, another reason i hear is that his detuned ae86 was no longer competitive as was too slow

just this past year at the Formula D competition i went to, there were 86's reaching entry speeds of 101MPH!! emagine that in km's. wow.
I also got to party with some of the drivers. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif i'm a lucky bastard.

He'll still keep his AE86, but if he's getting a full sponsorship from somene they basically tell him what to drive, not the other way around http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif You can't expect to tell someone who is giving you FULL support for the season what car you wanna drive. BAsically "Ueo, we'll give you a full sponsorship for 2007 if you drive our car".
As much as I love Ueo's trueno, and defiantely think he's the msot talented driver there, good on him! It's about bloody time he got a good deal http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

So roughly how many 86's remain in D1?

ae86hachiroku
15th June 2007, 09:45 PM
there is..

Toshiki Yoshioka - NOS 4AGE powered N/A Red Coupe Trueno
Kensaku Komoro - N/A 4AGE J-blood Green/Yellow Hatch Trueno
Wataru Hayashi - N/A 4AGE Red Hatch Levin
Tetsuya Hibino - SR20 turbocharged white Hatch Levin

There's probably more that enter to attempt to qualify to the actual day, but those 4 are the more well known ones.
Most AE86's have left D1 to compete in MSC instead, along with famous drivers such as Taniguchi and Orido.

Ueo now competes using a S15 in Street legal. the Z33 was for SL too, though they've changed cars.

he is still using the ae86 in the D1gp itself.
