I NEED A HEADLIGHT SWITCH AE86 SPRINTER - REVISITED!!!!!

I am desperate need of a Headlight switch ("I am over tapping the one thats in it to make my lights come on !!) - Works 5 times outa 10, but not worth the risk at RWC time !!

Anyone out there got any spares lying around ? - If so Price and delivery to Melb if Interstate !

my red 86 has the exact same problem, does yours make a buzzing noiose when the lights go off? i think its a relay problem more than switch fault but i have not had time to rip it apart and check what the fault is

Yeah I get the Buzzing noise but thats cos its just not quite making good contact inside the switch !! - I took a stuffed one to pieces to see what was going on inside the little sucker and could see where the wear and stuff - I was able to Modify it by Packing under the circuit board and a bit of solder & stuff.

I worked for ages untill one day it decided to let go again - so i let go with it and it now lives in the back yard of a neibourghs place about 7 houses away - Well as far away as it travelled after i smashed it with a Tennis Raquet http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/angry.gif

Probably a common thing with these things and the wear and stuff is probably caused over many years by people like you and me and consistent tapping !!

Im told that an EA or EB falcon headlight switch is the same switch, Just get one at a wrecker.

Thanks Sparks for the Heads Up on the EA, EB - wasnt aware of that - I will look into it !

And Truenosedan new would be good - Any adea of Price, Time Frame etc?

Pull your current one apart and re-solder all the contacts on the little circuit board inside. Fixes almost every occurence of this I have seen (meaning almost every AE86 in the country).

I have tried the repair option previously with another unit and yes this did fix it for a while !!!
