very interesting mate.....no bullshit in that one.
Funnily enough ive used the valvoline in the daily hacks ive had and the mobil 1 in the beasts. No wonder the dailys take so much hell and beasts always break down. Spewing!

I just brought some of that penrite 5w-60 (fukin $72)so ill let you know how it goes. im not surprised it was the best, and those results dont really surprise me at all.
5w60 is pretty thick for a 4age so we'll see how it goes. being synthetic i expect a major difference.

damn, i was hoping they tested the motul 300V motorsport oil, not just the turbolight stuff (i know thats crap). I use it in my skyline and haven't had any dramas. I think i will change to royal purple from now on though

the 5w-60 is the thinnest oil i would allow unless it was a race engine. you must have been joking when you said it was thick.
since then penrite brought out their "SIN" range. its the ultimate range of fully synthetic oils in different viscosities. check them out here http://www.penrite.com.au/html/s02_article...p;nav_top_id=55 (http://www.penrite.com.au/html/s02_article/article_view.asp?id=438&nav_cat_id=178&nav_top_id=55)
SIN 15 for a car with a 4age 16v not rebuilt and lower for one with a rebuild or 20v. doesnt matter if its NA, turbo or supercharged. SIN 0 for a track only race engine
used kitchen grade olive oil will be good enough for a 4ac but keep away from that extra virgin!

street commo's are being sued buy most of the oil companies because the test is not suited for motor oils it's a grease test.... or so my boss says.
