I'd say keep it 14s for the look and dorifty fun and 15s for track/control/feel I run 15x7 on my charmant (Same thing as a ke70) and it handles really well, have some negative offset too so they dont look huge, one good way to make them look less MASSIVE is to lower the piss out of your car. That is all.

DAN-86
24th May 2009, 09:36 AM

Had 15's on the KE70 i had, now i got 15x7.5 +4 mesh on the front of my KE55 and i think it looks hot. waiting on a wider pair for rear

false

as has been said FC calipers fit behind 14s, and the difference in performance is very minimal

Ueo, a previous D1GP champion, has always run 14s on his 86. He seems to perform 'ok'

14s are best, look tough while retaining grip

15s can suit slant front, but I'll have 14s anyday

To fit 14 or 15 in an 8 you're going to have to pump the guards to fit and get a decent stance.
Also lol at performance advantage, considering more then likely crappy 2nd hand tyres will be fitted regardless.

195/50 and 185/60 have same rolling diameter within a few mm.

Kid Karola

yeah like 0.3% difference in Overall Diameter between 185/60R14 and 195/50R15 (might vary a little between tyre manufacture or tread style) just tyre profile and stretch will effect fitment and guard clearence.

they do... i didnt mention anything bout fc brakes

i was referring to fitting bigger brakes as in, you will fit bigger brakes under a 15 than a 14

u can fit z32 tt brakes under a 15 inch rim, apart from the fail of offset and big bolt on spacers u have to run to fit wheels over the caliper as it sticks out lots it will pull up on a dime

i think 15s look better on most but 14s look ok

i prefer the higher ride height and smaller guard/tyre fitment

then its practical and still looks good

on my KE I have some of the ugliest 15 by 7 at the front with horrible offset so have 5ml spacers. They stick nicely to the road but got full lock(got lock spacer too) on the track and possibly a bit of body roll and ripped a strip almost all the way around the tire on my chassis rail. Never had that running all 14's. Any takers as to what caused this?

i recently just moved to 185/60/14 up to 195/50/15's id post a pic but 86 wasnt what was requested, its more of an illusion i think tha sometimes the 15'sjust appear to make it look like theres lots more gap for you to lower your car so really doesnt work unless you have a kit which i now need =(

ive been thinking.. (note just thinking) of going 16's on my car.. eventually.. with the bigger rolling diameter i should get more out of corner acceleration at higher speeds..

Robo86
26th May 2009, 02:40 PM
i think you gotta put some things into perspective, saying things like i should get more out of corner acceleration at higher speeds is a bit much, considering there's barley anyone on this forum who actually goes to the track (not having a stab, just stating) let alone someone that has a car setup thats so developed (and a driver thats good enough to lay down perfect laps time after time) that you can gain 0.2 of a second by running 16s

14 looks better, handles fine.
15 looks oversized without a kit, the only plus is what brendan said about wheel fitment

sundee
26th May 2009, 02:48 PM
thats a fair call i guess, but it all depends on what purpose u want your car for.. really this topic could be split into road or track, ive seen 1st hand the effect of going to 16's or even 17's on a track car ... and it makes alot of difference... anyway each to their own
