4ac's in 86's are all carby... AE71 is the exact same engine.

Just going to get a roady with the 4ac and then drop the 20valve in it and avoid defects and I should be sweet

so ur going to:
remove 20v 4age engine
remove ecu and loom (depending on the loom u may need to rewire half the car)
remove fuel pump (assuming its intank)

buy a rwd 4ac with exhaust
install 4ac motor
get rwc
go to vic roads to swap over eng no. and transfer car into ur name

remove 4ac
reinstall 20v 4age engine
reinstall ecu and loom (depending if u already rewired half the car)
reinstall fuel pump

go back to vicroads to swap over eng no.
then get knocked back because the car never came factory with a 20v 4age motor and told to get an engineers cert.

^ What Leo said! BTW 4ac is carby not fuel injected

No that's not what is going to happen I'm going to refit the 4ac get a rroadworthy when the roady is being done the mechanic can put the new engine number down and then I will refit the 20valve and not rego the motor to the car. Pray for the best if I get pulled up say I've just fitted it and haven't changed numbers simple.

Getting one engineered really isn't expensive or difficult. Then you can enjoy stress-free driving. But if you're determined to do it your way keep an eye on eBay. There was one on there recently, from memory.

haha I saw this posted on drift sales on Facebook and I had a laugh... as soon as a cop pulls you over with a 20valve you will be in defect city.

At the end of the day its John's choice and aware of the consequences.

ANYWAYS, AE71 4ac manual will bolt up easy.

Got a 4ac from a running ae86 if you are interested, lil smokey.

I have a 4ac engine you can have aswell.
No loom though cause I'm using it.
O affectionately call it chuggy because it ran like balls but it doesn't smoke. (Iirc I was thinking it was a tooth out on the timing but cbf cause It was coming out anyway.)
I'm near Hastings if that's close to you.
