Which of the two would be faster?? below are the specs:

2006 WRX STI

TORQUE 300 ft-lbs. @ 4000 rpm
HORSEPOWER 300 hp @ 6000 rpm
CURB WEIGHT 3351 lbs.

VS

1UZFE KE70 N/A

TORQUE 269 ft-lbs. @ 4600 rpm
HORSEPOWER 260 hp @ 5400 rpm
CURB WEIGHT 2415 lbs.

KE70. 500 odd kg lighter to cover a 40hp gap. Need to take other considerations in though, i.e the KE70 chassis is a floppy cock which does require some bracing for hp above stock. The WRX probably handles a lot better stock than a KE, so comes down to how much cashola has been sunk into the KE to justify buying it. Then again KE's done right look good, so also comes down to personal preference.

so let's say the KE70 chasis is fully braced and it's got its suspension modified to match the STI... would it stand a chance with an N/A 1UZFE motor?

depends on SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many factors

Driver, location, tyres, everything

the ke70 will be a more fun car

the WRX will be nicer to drive, look better (to normal people),

well, reason i asked is, a buddy of mine has the 2006 STI with antilag and all... and i have a 1uz +ke70 in the works... But i'd really love to give him a run for his money, while keeping it N/A... :soldier:

one thing though, wrx should win on rally races... but then again there was lots of good rwd rally cars...

For all of the naysayers out there, I just ran my 1996 214k mile fully stock 1UZ bolted to a 5 speed in my 1991 miata down the 1/4 mile drag strip at a local charity autocross held at the dragway. I was quite surprised by the results. This car is a blast. The results are as follows.

13.38ET @ 106mph
2.22 60ft ET

0-60 4.41 seconds.

I suspect that a 1UZ Miata could weigh just about the same as a 1UZ KE70... If his figures (above) are accurate, then I know which car would be faster:jdmsmile::jdmsmile:!

But like Matt said, there's one way to find out.
