Because all of the bodywork is coming along so well, i'm actually having to get my ass into gear with regard to the rest of the car. So today I dropped the extractors for the 18R off at the exhaust shop to have a flange welded on them and tomorrow i'm going to strip and clean my control arms, radius arms and crossmember for powdercoating.

Bonnet is coming along verrrrry well.



Had to get a new guard.


Here's why. A very average repair done back in 1983 leaving the front of the guard quite weak.


At first I was like...


But then I was like...


There was a big rusty section in my passenger door. Note the big cutout section.

Sooooo we decided to just take the whole door and lower radiator support, along with most of the A pillar out of the donor car.


And we did. And we made a mess of AJPS in the process. Don't worry dave, I cleaned up.


This is my ghetto repair to make the old door kind of close.


Oh, welding is happening.

Just got an MMS from luke showing a very very schmick looking lower radiator support bar, so the new one has been welded in.

Although it'll need some trimming to get the angle right. Very small amounts though.
