Did a bit more to the rig today, fitted up a muffler so that it doesnt sound like a mack truck. Some Commodore rear shocks which were spot on for the AJPS springs that I have and the new brake master cylinder. Managed to get it into second gear today which was a bit of a win. Will give it a bit of a tune tomorrow so that it will at least move under it's own power so that I can drive it to the dyno for a tune.

    Cheers

Ok latest update, fitted up some whiteline bars, surge tank, lift pump, boost controller and a heap of other stuff. Took it in for a tune yesterday and it did 120rwkw. Drives pretty well, plenty of get up and go. The only thing that I am a little worried about is that at 3000rpm it is only making 6psi and taking until 4500rpm to make 12psi. This is with a t25 so it seems to be taking a long time. I would have though it should be boosting from around 2500 and all in by 3500, 4000rpm at the latest. I even tried to disconnect the wastegate to see what the best ramp rate was but it wouldn't do better than that. I hope that it is just a small leak some where but I will need to get a boost guage to see the difference between the turbo and inlet.

    Cheers

No worries, just about to head away again, won't be back until 20 April then having surgery on my knee on 23rd but I am sure I will be able to fit it all in. I still have to pull the engine and tidy up the engine bay. I am not too sure that it is ready for rego just yet but I might be able to get it to the hill climb.

    Cheers

your boost problem may be caused by a leaking wastegate

Nope, it runs electronic boost control through the adaptronic. I can isolate the wastegate so that it see's no boost at all and the boost rate was still pretty bad.

So it was the wastegate but not really, the problem was that the actuator rod was too long which meant that the wastegate never closed even when we disconneted the wastegate hose. Mush better now will full boost on by 3500rpm and we pushed another couple of psi in so it peaks at around 12psi now. Should be good for an extra 10 rwkw. I will get it dynoed again soon, I just have a couple of oil leaks to fix at the moment.

    Cheers

Ok bit of an update, have fitted a Sparco REv seat, quick release for the steering wheel. I now have not 1 but 2 sets of 15" rims for the car as well as a another pair of SSR Mesh rims. Just have to work out which ones I am going to keep I guess.
