thanks mate look like i got done lol
An f series is a toyota diff, not a borg warner.
it has a 7.5 inch crown wheel. Is found in a tarago or old corona most commonly.
thanks mate look like i got done lol
That's a stock diff.
F is 27 spline 28mm.
So what does it take to convert the yr20 tarago f series to disk?
I read the link in the first page and it only shows for all other f series, doesn't say anything about the yr20.
Is the yr20's f series similar to one of the ones mentioned?
All help much appreciated.
I'm guessing you mean YR22? because a YR20 has an E series.
I'm pretty sure the axle flange is too large to fit the ST141/RT142 rear discs
You'd possibly find that the MA70 disc brakes fit though, they fit on hilux's diffs and may have the same axle flange.
Other than that, you can make anything fit if you get a custom caliper bracket made up.
Yep, I can confirm that the classic Corona disc rear end DOES NOT fit YR22 (2.2 litre EFI) Tarago F series.
The YR21 and YR20 should have an E series. I've never checked it, but I'd look at either Corona setup or Golberg's link for discs on these. However you can't get an E-series LSD, so you're going to have to weld it or live with it open.
Just reporting to the thread what I learned today.
I had the altezza torsen lsd centre fitted to the f series corona mk 2 housing.
It was the type 2 lsd with the shafts parallel to the pinion, supposedly a strong design.
Also, the diff shop did not use a spacer under the crown wheel as some have suggested. They were able to use a slightly different bearing and offset the centre on the adjusting threads. This way you avoid needing longer bolts, a spacer, and you avoid adding weight and a sheer point to the rotating assembly. Only took 1 day turnaround. I took it from fabricators to the diff shop midday yesterday, and got it back trued, cleaned, and assembled with new bearings and seals lunchtime today.
Also it didn't have any baffles inside. I intend to fit some. Pretty much any f series bafffle should fit I hope. The cross over amongst every other F series model.
Part 42108‑30010 (DEFLECTOR, REAR AXLE HOUSING OIL) was found on the following models:

300 kw is a lot of power. Might be somewhere around the limit.
I know the general rule of thumb would be T series maybe 200hp and not too much torque. I'm not sure for F series, but then again the 8 inch Toyota Diffs are almost unsmashable, so how bad could a 7.5" be?
Has anyone on this site Broken a F and how did you do it?
Just reporting back to the thread about the baffles above. They slid straight in like a glove. Even though the earlier housing never had them.
