yeah that's right it's to avoid any unfair advantage by one company have a more crap bad model with their particular series of cars. THe Supertaxi here just change the rules to make it more even, funny how some people are under the dellusion that it's a race about Holden Vs ford.

Pretty sure the shells are made from aluminum and they all have to fit within certain proportions.
cause they are on the limit of grip, get to some pretty high speeds pretty close together sometimes 3 wide, theres alot of race strategy going on in the pits and stuff whether to change tyres or just fuel up and shit. Some guys gamble on so many laps under yellow that they can pit early and fill right up and fresh tyres and make it to the finish with no more pits, risky but awesome when they pull it off.
red necks give it a bad name but at the end of the day there are more than red necks watching it. Unless your in the crowd and getting spat on by a guy with no teeth i cant see the downside.
They run alloy shells and different motors and stuff. There is upwards of around 5 or so engine makers such as toyota, rouche, gibson and stuff.
Theres alot more to it as well if you look from a mathimatical perspective like i enjoy, such that running wide is more than 2pieR its 3pieR/4 as its a banked corner, changes in track position become more significant relative to how wide they run up the bank.
When they go from bank to flat on the straight shit gets hairy as the change in aero and corner radius and stuff.
Its like f1 and moto gp, you can sit there and go all they do is accel then brake then turn then accel then brake then turn and so on but its not.
i find v8 super cars more boring than nascar as there is on the line driving that often, the difference in v8 supercars is who can control compression braking with the clutch the best on hard down changes and who has had the most r and d and financial input.

ill take nascar over lemans, F1, BTCC, anything that isnt drifting, targa or rally basically.
i watched a great race the other day, near the end two guys push pulled themselves ahead of the other group by the rear car slip-streaming the front one and pushing him and then flicking past him at the last few seconds, was very cool.
