After all these years, it's still all about the glass. After owning L series lenses and zeiss, I will never go back to plastic crap.
The 5D MKII (body) still goes for $1400 second hand, just sold mine.
If you want good video from a dslr for cheap check out a Panasonic GH1.. can be hacked for sweet results.

I don't count anything that isn't full frame as an SLR I would advise to buy.

I shoot Landscapes (biggish multi stitch panoramas) and Portraits mainly.
As soon as I saw 60fps all I could imagine was some douche in a skatepark trying to make a Menikmati / CKY / Flip-Sorry so they could get some ultra cool slow-bro footage of a kickflip. lol
I thought that go-bro's were the be-all and end-all for drift doco footage?
