Aside from being rad, there hooked up to a thermal switch so they open up to let more air in when the engine gets hot. You can also connect them to the ignition so it's always open when the car is running.
Anyone else?
Hey ive been offered a flip grille for pretty cheap and was just wondering what the purpose of these are?
Are they hard to wire up/ fit piping to?
What are some other pro/cons
Cheers,
Tom

Are they hard to plumb/wire up??? is there a tek thread on them anywhere?
ha cheers bro.
There is no wiring, its just a thermostat which T's into the bottom radiator hose. There are a number of bits you need to make it work properly, but most of the time when people sell them they are missing the thermostat (or non working/leaking), the hoses, the solid piping with bleeder valve, and the T piece.
I have done it and got it working, using all of the proper stuff needed (which pretty much all solid pipes and thermostats cannot be obtained new).
