Its allright, I got the email with your original Post Everyone has their own definition, like most things in the car scene... I dont think of patina as fake until you use the paint to create the effect... I thought about it, but decided against it... For reference sake...

If i find another bonnet in good enough condition ill get it taken back, paint the underside, and do just that Got a few ideas for the Black bonnet that came off too, will fix the massive rust holes in it, and do something with it!

Patina is literally "acquired change of a surface through age and exposure". It happens, its not made. I didn't really want to debate it but thats pretty well unarguable truth, and EDIT I am quite sorry for going down that path as I reiterate it is still a pretty cool car.
