haha deadline....maybe last month?
But I dont have too much to go now, need to pay rego for it though which will set me back a little bit in the piggy bank. Realistically, Im hoping for it to be back on the road (tuned, good to drive) by my birthday on the october long weekend.
Ill be getting some headlight brackets and a new dizzy cap CNC cut hopefully this week, after doing those drawings Im even tempted to draw up a new radiator support and get it made completely from aluminium......haha too many ideas means this car will never be done.
Also Johl, I just got a generic fpr adapter for 4age off ebay, it bolts exactly where the original fpr goes. I just went and got some speedflow male-male adapters to connect the braided lines to the fuel rail (pirtek sells them)
I just put a bolt in where the cold start injector is normally connected to the fuel rail, I really should have welded it up when I had the chance.
Ok slowly making some progress.
It runs all good now, I had a problem with it not charging before. But its all sorted now, got a working charge light now too.
Dash is done, just need to neaten up the microtech wiring, relocate it and put the glove box back in.
Got some headlight brackets made up. I also got som mad lights for $15 at the markets!
Also made a new oil catch can. Unfortunately I had a minor miscalulation and ended up with only 1.8L, Ill leave it for now until the car is finished.
It drives!
Went for a quick spin around the block, so it still goes...
Need to finish a whole bunch of little things off and then time for a tune.
i like the look of the setup what power does that motor make?
the dyno pull to 300rwkw
BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less
Not sure yet. I dont even know what to hope for, but as long as its more than the old 20v had Ill be happy.
I may end up cutting the trumpets down too, see how it goes when I get it tuned though...
Just need to sort out a few bits so It can be driven, namely a passenger seat and finishing the front bar. Then a few ducts and covers still need to be made before I go for any proper drives.
Also some newer photos.
I got the thermo fan hooked up finally. I was going to make a mount and shroud for it, but it was too huge for me to bother. It seems to work fine, it sucks a tea towel hanging from about 30cm in front of the radiator. Also the bonnet vent seems to vent most of the air, so i think the angle of the radiator is close enough to what I wanted...
ok sorted out most little issues now.
It idles alright, just need to see how it goes when its hot.
thermo works fine, lights work fine, blinkers wired up (just need lenses)
Where do people find these front lips?
its a trd N2 style lip, but attached to what looks like an origin or something type bar
small update!
drove the car for the first time in 6 months!
Now to get a passenger seat and then get it tuned.
