hey all
ive had a bit of a look through the forum but cant realy find any thing about the weld on coilover sleeves i will be using series one t18 struts the main thing i need to no is how much should i be cutting off my strut and what shock to use? is the kyb agx st185 the way to go for the shock? i will be running my car pretty low at all times. so i may noty need an adjustible shock what would be a good shorter stroke shock?
any help appreciated.
cheers

thats handy. thanks mate
you want an adjustable shock, so that it is stiff enough to control your springs.
st185 is the shortest insert you can get now, except for trd and tokico. but those are over $500 a pair now.
unfortunately, there is no shock that is cheaper than an st185 agx, that is stiff enough to control the springs most of us run.
long story short, get st185 kyb agx. cut the strut right down to suit the insert, done.
my car runs those, and i can get the cross member right down to about 100mm off the ground.
this puts the rails at about 70mm. well below legal and quite slammed, an 86 with a kit, will be near on undriveable on the street. lowering beyond this point, it becomes very very hard to keep decent suspension geometry with off the shelf parts anyway.
st185 agx is what ive been recomended by alot of ppl (slydar/dimitri) being one of them
adjustable is a must with stiff springs as the springs are pointless without the shox to go with them.
