Im still standing a few houses down so all I see is the garage start raising. time slows down. my heart is beating like crazy. praying my stuff is in there.
The cops keep going in and out, grabbing stuff from their cars. I have no idea whats going on. but I hear the cops laughing. So something good must be in there. after another 20 minutes of me pacing around one of the detectives came to his car that was parked next to my truck. "I didnt know I was going to have to wrestle tonight" he said as he grabbed a note pad from his car. I asked what was going on and all he says was they found a garage full of car parts. then walks away. What the hell? Are they mine? way to leave me hanging.
At least another 30 minutes pass as camera flashes light up the garage. I see them take the thieve down to a police car as Detective lance finally came over. "Ive got something to show you" he said as he motioned me over. We got to the next house and the thieve being escorted by 2 uniforms was up at the house again. "Whoa Whoa, hold up. I thought he was in the cop car already. I cant have you by him." Lance said. "I dont even get to take a shot at him?" "I wish I could let you. but I cant." then he told me to wait there until he got him in the car. Came back and walked me up to the garage. Where all my parts were layed out nicely. along with at least enough parts to complete 2 other stripped down 240s and what looked like a bunch of integra parts. The cops told me to go through everything and make sure we grab all my stuff. "Im assuming you want to load up your parts and take them with you tonight right?" "We will just need to take pictures of them all before we load them into your truck."
So I pulled my truck up and started going through everything and grabbing my parts. lining them up on the sidewalk and grass so they could take pictures. Everything was there except my front coirover and 2 junk stereos and my ipod. I told the cops that I was pretty sure my coirover where on the front of his car. "Do you mind taking them off yourself?" he asked me. So we pushed the car into the garage and I grabbed the guys tools and popped the hood. noticed that the vin plates had all been changed besides the firewall stamp. pointed it out and told them the car was most likely stolen. They brought their car expert in. all proud and saying that he was the expert with every car. that he knew his shit. He came over and kept pointing at the fender lip where you bolt them to the car. saying that there should be a sticker on the inside of it that was taken off too. Now I dont know many cars inside there. but 240s and rx7s and corollas dont have anything there. I told him I have never seen one there. but he insists that they do.
Then he looked at the engine and mumbled that it was the stock engine. It was an sr. I was thinking "For real? this is your expert?" basically everything he pointed at or talked about was wrong. all the while I was pulling off my coirover. The neighbor brought over some sodas and was talking with Detective lance. lance then said that at first he thought I was just making stuff up because he gets alot of people who call him off hunches and make stuff up to get him out there. The mexicans tightened every bolt super tight. on everything. I get the coirover off and ask what to do with the car now. They tell me to just drop it on the ground, they dont care. we load everything up and the detectives tell me to have a good night. That it. tell me to go home and they didnt need me anymore.
As we were leaving his friend pulled in the neighbor hood in his celica. When I got home(a few blocks away) I plugged my phone in and called lance. telling him his friend was coming home. He told me he saw the car slow down then take off.
then I went and picked up my car and took all my parts and car to my shop.
they tore it up pretty good. but it should be fairly easy to fix. Scratched the shit out of my new paint though.
not very exciting. im tired and dont care.
