very nice, so much better with black bars. i wouldn't name it the red rocket though, that's another term for a dogs pink lipstick
Nah it's got some "monza-r" filter although it's pretty much just foam. It came with the motor.
Zenki lip would look good but I think I'm going to change to kouki bumpers in the future!

This car looks just like mine haha. Looks the goods
Haha I know what red rocket means hence the title. I call the car あかね (akane).
Yeah it probably does lets not lie it's nothing too spectacular, hopefully in the future that will change.
nice!
any plans for the white one??

Keeping it for now and has been handy for any odd parts I need. I may sell it in the future or could pour more money into it ha...i've been thinking about my old panel van lately though and really want another one.
well done aswell, its never easy to resto a car while studying/moving house/being broke etc.

Yeah! I wanted this car to be clean, don't see the point in owning a daily that's going to attract too much unwanted attention. This one will attract more than the white one cause of the colour and height. I have been pulled over in a RBT and the cop did have a little suss, mainly looking at the height but he was cool and I was on my way. It always helps being really polite the moment they pull you up
Thanks dove grey 64. I lucked out cause dad's profession is panel repair and spraying cars so I reap massive benefits from that, I'm not even going to mention how much I had to pay for my full respray
Haven't really been lurking these forums for quite some time but I have found my way back on here. I haven't done much to the car since my last post...been focusing on buying recording gear which is expensive.
So i've pretty much been jumping back and forth driving this car and then my other white 86. I got this car back on the road nearly a month ago now. Pretty much only thing that has changed is I got a new pair of formula mesh which are now on the rear (15x7.5 -8) and I put the reverse mesh (15x7 +1) on the front with RE002's all round (195/50). Much nicer having good tyre's over cheap shitty ones. It's just been great to be able to do some hills driving.
I am now living with a friend who owns a z20 and has now given me a bit more inspiration to do a few small things now that I have access to decent tools at home so over the next few weeks my plans are just to tidy a few things up. Planning on:
Changing the intake and running a stock airbox setup. Not bothering with finding a JDM 86 one ($$) so I am just going to go to u pull it and make something work. I will also be looking at installing a thermo fan setup. The aircon also isn't wired up so i'd like to figure that out cause it would be nice in summer. Red car + hot sun = pain
I'd like to change around my front suspension setup a little more but that will come a little bit in the future when I am ready to spend a bit more cash on the car. I think for now i'd rather spend the money on taking it to the track for a grip day...far too keen to drive this on the track and really enjoy the car. Any info on this would be great!
Anyway here's some pictures:
