good to see you last night mang, this thing sounds mint!!!
thanks for the help/comments/offers guys - except for you mereki, fuck you haha
i'm not sure if the box is under warranty - i bought it off some random ebay kent, but any bearing/gear problems SHOULD've been noticed by the gearbox shop when it was stripped down and re-assembled. so we'll see. if ANYONE finds a cheap 6-speed box for an IS200 (or beams RS200) holla at ME ASAP. there are a few on toymods atm, but they're out of my imaginary 'budget'
on a better note, direct clutch at albion (free plug here) are building me a clutch for a wonderful price - good lads.
good to see you last night mang, this thing sounds mint!!!
hahaha yeah that little run was loads of fun![]()
Okay, update - motor is run-in, and all seems to be going well. The gearbox is super noisy, but i just deal with it (and tell bogan commodore drivers i have a dog-box).
On my running-in (all done on hill-runs) i noticed the oil temp was getting really hot, even on cool nights. I've fitted one of my oil cooler / relocator kits and things are waaaay better. Crappy run-in mineral oil wouldn't have been helping though
I just bent some brackets up for the cooler, and welded up a little bracket for the relocator - was pretty easy. I've found one of the downsides to a trueno vs. levin - airflow, and running oil cooler lines - both aren't great haha.
Also, since i was sick of my previous header setup (didn't QUITE work with the height of my 7A, so it leaked down at the first flange, making the car get some wicked exhaust fumes inside), i made my own. $600-700 of materials and 30 hours later, i have a perfectly equal length header - and it's my first one! So goddam stoked.
You can read more about it here if you CBF :
And that's about it. I'm rushing to get the car ready for the 19th drift morning. I have to change suspension, fit new brakes, fit new seats, and some other random BS - it's gonna be fun! I'm going to fail HARD out at QR, so if you laugh, make sure you do it to my face lol.
From the whole team at AE86DC, we wish you goodnight, and will see you again tomorrow night at 5.
Fuck those headers are nice!Seriously top job man!
Cheers, plohl
Please be sure to let robbo skid it at qr :p and i want videos/dyno figure already :p
Mad work on the headers tho..

ill be there for the 19th homeslice! i cant wait to see this machine again!
im also interested in seeing a dyno figure mine wasn't that bad but its got the torque to compensate
the dyno pull to 300rwkw
BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less
