60ftrs are the key to drag racing, got that right and its worth up half a sec at the other end.
and no wheel spin is not a bad thing, you dont break shit either...
what are you 60ft-ing at?
With a trap speed of 90mph, you should be able to crack a 14 as it is. Don't be scared of wheelspin, learn to use it. (not saying ou are, but dont be haha)

I was just at a wednesday test n tune. It was deserted, got 13 runs including breaks to cool the slipping clutch.
Its addictive tho! I'm throwing a new clutch in and re-tuning back to 280rwhp.
With your tips and some practise hopefully can get into the low 12's or dare say it the 11's.

I intend to break into the 14s before getting over it with this vehicle, Im waiting for winter before I get too concerned. I have dropped time each time Ive gone out and progressed each time, almost in a linear fashion each run. My best reaction time was 0.06 seconds. I was real happy with that.
I haven't yet tried any real weight reduction or used the little trick I've been told about to get an amazing 60 footer.
I'm 60 footing around 2.25 seconds.
Could be going a bit quicker than a 15.5 with a 2.25 60ft.
Going through the traps in 4th? if you are shifting just prior to finishing the run, you may be loosing a fair bit of time. I'm not sure what gearing you are running so I can't give any real help there, but if you are shifting on the line or just prior, hold the gear prior, loosing half a second of drive on a shift at the line can cost a bit of time.
Also, although it is fun trying to pull a good reaction time, focus more on launching the car, rather than when you want it to leave the line. after all at a test and tune, a reaction time is worth exactly nothing, its the ET you want, and your reaction time is never going to affect, so spend that second or two in staging making sure it leaves the line right.
Not meaning to sound like a know all or trying to tell you how to run your car, just trying to offer my knowledge
Yeah you're just kind of answering a bunch of questions I never even asked, since its all more or less stuff I know or have been told before and continue to work on, but go nuts, whatever makes you happy.
I've got lots of things to try and I'm doing experiments as I go.
The best 60 footer was under 2.2 but it wasn't the quickest et or trap speed. I've tried hitting the traps in 4th but it was quicker to bounce 3rd off the limiter a moment at the end (4.3:1). I reckon the most important thing is that the car can pitch back and plant the diff as it goes off the line, eliminating as much wheelspin as possible and forcing it to lurch forwards. Secondly, quick shifts with a lot of revs behind it.
PS, I enjoy getting good reaction times, I go there to race people and test my car, I'm not some serious drag racer, and it doesnt count on test and tune of course, but If i know I just have to add 6 one hundredths to my time to make it official, Im happy. I am competitive and as such want to have perfect reactions each time if possible, more so to try and beat whoever I'm racing at that time.
Not a case of answering questions you haven't asked or you already know, I'm curious as to what is holding it out of the 14sec bracket. And it may help the other fella too.
But you are correct with planting the diff (squat) as I said before suspension is where it is at. But the front end, and how it lifts plays a big part so don't just concentrate on the rear end.
One other little trick to keep in mind is not going deep into stage, that way you aren't loosing time when the car squating/lifting the front, as most of it has happened in the couple hundreths of a second before you actually trip the clock.
If you can't tell I do love drag racing haha.
motorsport in general is cool.
