I am scratching my head over this one, all ae86 and ae71 are meant to be the same
I recognize there is a differance between a JDM 22 spline T50 and a 20 spline AE71 T50. I also realize there is a difference with the bellhousing being that the clutch fork is located on the drivers side in the JDM bellhousing. The engine end plate part No. is differrant between the AE86 and AE71 according to
Questions
1. is the ONLY difference between bellhousings the clutch fork location?
2. will an engine endplate from an 4A AE71 work with the JDM T50 bellhousing.
So close to putting the motor in the car, just stuck with this last peice of the puzzle. Asked heaps of people for a 86 end plate but know luck.

0: gearbox on ae86 and ae71 are same aside from shifter aside from the 87 T-50
1: yeah, probably. Pointing out the obvious but the clutch slave will follow the clutch fork to the other side too.
2: yes. I've put aus T-50 onto jdm end-plate. Don't see why it wouldn't work the other way.
Thank you. Hate having to ask dumbarse questions but its the only way Im gonna learn.
cheers Jason
Yeah, like sam said, I doubt any of us even knew the plate was different. The way I saw it was, it's a 4a block, the thing that attaches behind it must be the same because all 4a have the same gearbox attachment points, and never questioned it.
