It will whine if you didnt spread the load of weld, ie. heated up the one spot for to long instead of randomising where you do your next weld. The center will expand/warp/etc. Still, just put up with the whine, cant be anyworse than my GF.
yeah its noisy as hell, particularly around tight corners at low or no throttle, must be the skipping of the tire and all the slop in the splines of the axels and c/v's but under load its just the tire skipping, im also glad a changed the oil after a bit of driving, was a lovely little pile of metal on the magnetic plug, not to mention the oil didnt look real flash, but the oil that came out of it originally probably been in there since jesus did the last service 2000 odd years ago......................

yeah whines a bit nothing im gonna worry about
just thinking out loud but has anyone heard/seen of a diff that fails after welding for the sole fact that it became too unbalanced?? like didnt spreed the welds out evenly and bearings didnt like it?
