Honestly, there probably isn't much difference in economy between 4 and 6 cylinder. Four cylinder is a smaller motor, so theoretically uses less fuel, however, they're so gutless you will have your foot flat to the floor 88.5% of the time.
mainly buying one for the economy my 86 just got defected the other week and im not gonna worry about putting it back on the road til i fix the body 100%, is there much difference between the 4's and 6's milage wise and that beetle is pretty cool, at the end of last year i done a set of extractors and muffler on a super bug the thing sounded pretty similar to the one in the vid

i noticed with my mates old auto one that his was real gutless but the couple that i test drove on the weekend were both manual and didnt seem to bad

Were you test driving 318i or 318is?
The IS has the twin cam m42, which is fair bit better than the single over head cam.
nah just single cam found a manual 325 for sale might go have a look if its still there

wouldnt be doing alot to it as it would be the daily maybe just some low, wheels and bit of an exhaust i got the 86 which i wanna focus on big plans for that just all have to happen in time would be a cool daily though i would say also just found a 318is e30 might have to have a look at this one aswell little bit more than i wanted to pay but the car looks fair on mint just need some different wheels
