Not sure about this one, but a cop and defect you on the spot and cancel your rego. Im assuming a mechanic can do the same thing for the same reason. I don't know but that seems logical...
hey all quick question
I just swapped the motor in my ke70 to a 5k an i understand i need a blue slip to make it legal.
The problem is, its still in rego so if i fail the blue slip will the mechanic deem my car unroadworthy an cancel my registration?
thanks

pfft a coppa would not be able to tell the difference
i agree as long as your install is neat with out to many shiny bits under the bonnet they tend not to notice
as an altenative most mechanics i have dealt with are happy to check and advise on blue slips before actually carrying out the inspection ( for a small fee of course)
The blue slip you need won't be a full inspection, just an engine number change / identity check.
