Big respect for those guys, pushing themselves & mechanics against the limits.
I watched all the Red bull Air Races last year, just crazy shit.
RIP Pip.
He is a real local identity in Northern Vic. When I was living in Shepparton, you would hear him out practicing his routine most mornings on the weekends. It was like a free show every time. He'd give his time and his plane freely to most local events, especially car shows like Springnats etc. Best thing was, when he was doing his stunts, he'd patch through to the commentator's booth at the showgrounds and tell you what he was doing the whole time. I don't know how the man had so much breath in his body when it was under so much force.
e.g. "Okay then, now we'll go into a stall...here we go...climbing....3..4..5..and hold it there for a moment...and now out and into a dive....pull 3g s on the turn..."
Completely awesome. You'll be missed mate.
