    lol 250.... mad
848 FTW! i love ducati's, you dont understand till you ride one.
R1's are good but just a bit peaky for me, gixxers are porn to ride, smooth, sticky, and you can get the ass out on exit without worrying its gunna bite.

    Owned a 98 rgv250 for about 3 years. Loved it, except for the internal g/box ratios for 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

Thinking about re-entering the frey but am undecided between a newer 600, or one of these.

The pics below are an MC21 NSR250 honda, fitted with Tyga fairing kits & go fast bits. Those who are into 250's would know, but as far as I understand, all nsr's were restricted and produced around 45bhp. My locally delivered rgv dyno'd at 57hp. The Aprilia engine is of course a massaged rgv engine, with revised power valve & ignition timing to improve the midrange. Hence the previous comment about NSR's being a little uncompetitive in the power stakes - and let's face it, none of the bikes have much power compared to a 600, and in open corners you get dusted driving out regardless of how much more corner speed you carry.

Anyhow, from memory the Tyga kits bring the NSR up to around 70bhp which is fairly awesome, given the 250gp bikes are around 90 I understand. Tyga also do kits for lots of other bikes.

heres a snippet. I think they look awesome, considering the actual bike is a 91model it looks very modern.

Yeah, usually I cringe at race rep paint jobs - but the rossi one is fairly cool.

I like how the head lights are integrated into where the black air intake is on the real nsr500. Also cool how the Tyga crew make pipe kits to suit the particular replica (e.g. 250gp pipes are different from the 500gp pipes).

Another cool bike is the TSS rs500 bike. TSS = The Two Stroke Shop.

Its an rs250 road bike, running a parallel twin comprised of 2 x honda CR250 engines. Plus the engine is fully tuned by an ex (500cc) motogp engineer.

I'm not in the know, but as far as I can tell, there is no two stroke road bike available as highly strung as this thing. 35% more torque than a 600, and 30kg lighter....

It would be awesome to ride, albeit tricky on the narrow rear tyre which the RS runs.

Actually I can't recall the spec of the honda NSR500 V-twin from the ninetees, but it was probably not far in front of the TSS RS500.

The best part is the basic conversion kit (if you already have an RS250 roller) is about $7000. A full bike starts at $15000 which is not too unreasonable.

Reminds me, I saw a brand new RS250 on bikepoint for about $8500, still wondering if I should get it.
