How's it goin guys. Sometime in 2004 I watched a drift video and instantly fell in love with the AE86. I then studied everything I could about AE86's. I'm not just some Takumi wannabe, I actually have a great liking for the AE86's design and think it is one of Toyota's greatest triumphs. Within a few months I saw one sitting outside a local mechanic and went straight in to give him an offer for it. Soon enough it was sitting in my backyard without an engine in it.

After a few chats to my cousin (Some of you may know Kev, aka Phrostbyte), I found a 4AGE from a friend of his, Leo (rthy). Kev soon after moved in and we got started on the 4AGE conversion. After alot of profanities and such, it got wired up and it started well. We then got a few exhaust bits welded and off we went.

Soon enough we will be starting a drift team together, and both buying 4AGZE's to turbo (Most likely going for t28's or something similar). New suspension and LSDs will also be a definate future purchase for both cars.

Anyway enough with the chat, here's the pics .

DRFT Steering wheel, Autotechnica 100mm Boss kit, Autometer Cobalt 5" Tacho (For sale after realizing it only works on 6cyl or 8cyl), Stock seats at the moment, yes that is a nice tear (Bucket seats on the way soon).

Me standing next to the beast after Kev did a quick temporary wire job (As you can see hahah) for the fuel pump and we first started it. Fuel pump is an in-tank JDM AE86 Pump, no surge setup as yet. This photo was taken just before we lowered the thing.

Lowered (Chopped for the moment), will be buying 8kg fronts and 6kg rears within the next week or two.

Engine shots to come tomorrow, so check back .

    Jim.

    Oooo some interest .

Jim's at his girlfriends house but I figured I'd quickly take some photos and chuck them up.

Again the nice Drift steering wheel with the TRD horn button in place.

And the engine bay. Jim put a fair bit of work into sanding those cam covers back and used some expensive engine enamel to spray them (I think he put about 15 coats on each!). He also sprayed the extractors with heat resistant paint, but obviously it wasn't heat resistant enough, it burned straight off... Ahaha the bastard also stole my air filter after I wrote off the KE70 4AGE a few days ago (Don't worry the engine wasn't harmed and will be going into my new white AE71 within a few days) .

And last but not least, A lil bit of drift damage for all y'all folks to chuckle about. We were doing some nice tandem drifting one night about a week ago and Jim flicked into inertia and the back wheel hit the gutter pretty hard, I actually saw sparks fly into the air!

I'll tell Jim to stop being slack and update more often for ya's

    Cheers,
    Kev.

Yes, but a 1.5" exhaust is a fair bit of restriction for it (Jim will get a new exhaust within a few weeks). And also the wiring job is only temporary, I will be going over it all with a soldering iron soon.

Lol I did the old "Chop the shifter" trick on that. If you chop around the vibration reducer (without going right through it) at the right point, you can fit an aftermarket knob straight on. Therefore a short shifter for nothing .

Ahh I'm bored so I went out and took some more photos

Heres some good shots of the engine bay, you can actually see Jim's cam covers alot easier in these shots.

Few shots of the car itself. The body is absolutely immaculate... I believe Jim has plans to remove the pinstriping and side protectors very soon.

And also a quick shot of the oil cooler and thermofan.

    More soon.

    Kev.
