depends... atm... wit a 4a-c... i dont plan on servicing it ever... but once i drop a 16v/20v/gze in... i will prolly be like you...
reason i ask is cos i service my car about once a month, or when the oil gets dark on the dipstick.. and i get shit for it.. i mean i know it's not really neccissary, but after pulling off the sump on my GZE and finding how much gunky build up there was in there from the lack of servicing performed in japan.. i can't help myself.. i mean for $30-$40 for a bottle of oil and a filter... you'll keep your engine cleaner and hopfully last longer..
P.S. general service to me consists of oil+filter, general check through engine bay fluids top up if needed..

every 5thou kms is usually the way. unless you do mass track time.
Just whenever its getting dirty and level low. 4ac uses a bit.
After each trackday.
Some oil's with high detergents go black almost instantly, so I would be careful about going on the colour of the oil.
I don't think i even wait for any where near 5000km..
Anytime it starts to get dirty she's outta there.
every 5 thou for me,or after every track day, cant afford a motor to let go
ROYAL GARAGE NEWCASTLE
Yerp 5thou on the street, or every 2 track days.
I have a similar regime for gearbox and diff oil. I change both every 3 months or 4 track days to keep shit running phreshhhhhhh.

oi...joel, your car has like never had a problem
I'd say befor/after each track day, but it's been over 16mts since my car has hit the track!!!
i noticed Penrite oils go black after 2-3 days.. the way you said that looks like you think it's bad to change your oil often! (i know thats not what you think, but the way it's worded it does)
yes gear box and diff also get serviced every 3-4 engine services on my car, which would be every few months
