i say maybe. ae71 weighs clost to 1000kg with fuel and spares and shit like that. i don't know what a trailer weighs!! i would guess close to 500kg for a car trailer. i think it would be close.
how much would a trailer weigh that could fit an ae71 onto it? the reason i ask is because my brother is most likely going to buy a 97 v6 magna to tow our future project and the towing capacity revealed on redbook is 1500kg, will the car be able to handle it comfortably?

I think a trailer would be less than 500kg, i mean you can pick em up and move them pretty easily.
Our motorbike trailer with all the roof, sides and full checker plate floor comes in under 900kg so a car trailer without the roof, framing and a "full" floor, i wouldnt see it going past 500kg/600kg. Yeah we have a v6 magna and it tows it piece of piss.
we towed my ae71 home when i bought it and it was the worst experience ever
even in a braked trailer it was still very sketchy.
dads got a forrester xt which i think had a rating of 1500kgs?
pretty much, the bigger and sturdier the car your using to tow, the easier its going to be for you.
Diesel discovery for the win!!!!!!
V8 XD falcon Heaps better then the parentals x-trail, (2000kg braked rating on x-trail)
is that the 4wd magna or the fwd one?
RWD TOW all the way, my sprinter can tow better than a mid 90's nimbus
30kw club
it is close, tho i did manage to drive my ae71 from gold coast to Qr one time with a holden vectra 2.0 4cyl.
was a bit underpowered but did ok... the clutch was never the same lol
magna should be quite ok for it. tho obviously 4wd's are the best option
i towed my 86 home with my daewoo nubira, it did fine but it was only 10 kms max and i was taking everything slow, plus i used a bit of fuel using the gears to slow down.
but it wasnt hard. ive seen magna's tow long carvans so a car and trailer can be to much harder than that.
