ok i bet somebody has asked this before.....
i have looked and from what i have read is that i can use falcon front spings cut down in the rear and fix hk-tg rear shocks so thay dont drop out......???????

but what do i use in the front ?????
i dont realy want to cut the front ones as the 86's has good heavy duty spring all round just in case i get a defect
i no if i put shorter springs in the front im going to have to limit the travel in the front .....

    so what do i use????????

might have to get some camber to

correct me if im wrong but it isnt all that nessesary to put short strokes in the front as the spring cant realy go far... know a few people who have just stocko shocks and lower/cut springs and they havnt had any dramas.

cutties all around are fine, jsut be carefull when you jack the fucker up. Also, only do this if the car is in rego

New shocks, or short strokes, are not necessary but will only pay dividens in handling!

A good tip for the front cut springs is to wack a couple of cable ties around the bottom of the spring. There should be a hole in the spring perch. Will help stop the spring from coming loose.

great minds think alike dems cuz i was just about to do that to my springs....BUT... iv been told that the zip ties no matter how many i lose would be a dodgey idea for something like suspension so im going to bend a couple of strips of aluminium or something and fasten them around the bottom coil like zip ties cept made of thicker strips of aluminium altho unless i watch too much dukes of hazard one day n decide that my car is the next general lee i dont think it'll be all that neccessary

my car is bullshit low on cut stocko springs

mostly cause i wanted to see what it'd be like, but yeah i used zipties to hold them in front and rear, just drilled lil holes in the spring seat, ziptied the bastards in, all good.

imo its not THAT dodgy to use zipties to hold springs in (considering ur cutting springs here..) cause really the only thing they're doing is holding the spring, its not like theres any weight or anything on them

    edit: spelling is gay.

i would not recommend cutting your springs.
1 - it is illegal (by law you cannot cut, modify, or weld any suspension component without a mod plate)
2 - the heat generated by cutting with a grinder will change your spring rate (which cannot be controlled)

i'd recommend just getting some lowered springs

this is just advice, not saying you have to follow it, just something to think about

its not so much the heat which alters the spring rate, its the taking a coil out of the spring part... the heat is very localised.

plus im pretty sure 1. doesnt bother many people, considering those who have cut falcon springs, or welded/locked diffs, or other similar things
