i think u will lose the fast/cold idle though..like mine
I am completing a FWD 4age conversion into an ae86, it was a 4ac. The 4age heating system is confusing me.
Can I connect the water/heating system as the diagram shows ?
Can I disconnect all water/vacuum lines to the throttle body?
(hope you like the diagram )
Thanks
Glen

Pic working now ?
BTW, it is also on
The diagram looks mainly right, however the connections to the heater are wrong. It may work like you have drawn, but if you take the coolant from the two pipes drawn there it'd be coming through some pretty small fittings.
Usually the heater supply comes off the back of the head, and is returned into one of the pipes on the remote thermostat (the brassy looking one you can unbolt).
Also make sure the red and blue pipes in the diagram are both connected to one side of the thermostat. This allows some coolant flow with the thermostat closed. So the thermostat "sees" the correct coolant temp and opens when it should.

So, the heater will work, but the fittings are too small - will this be a problem, or wil lthe heater just not work as well as it should ?
Glen
On the red and blue pipes pictured, there are fittings (about where you've drawn the joins) for coolant to the throttle body. These pipes are about 5mm in diameter. The feeds to the heater core are about 15mm in diameter.
However if you were to weld your own 15mm pipes off the red and blue ones pictured I can't see why it'd be a problem at all. However it could still be easier to just run it in factory configuration.

Fixed for you the way mine is, Thats the way i was told to do it and thats the its setup on others aswell.
