Odd, one of the videos had a segment showing some of D1gp cars even using well into the 50psi's.
the guys with R1R's (CTS and Holdfords) run 30 psi hot's in them to get the most grip and life out of them,
anything 40+ will give you awesome smoke but a 3 lap lifespan....

Dont skid on semi's.

yeah... for the smoke.
they dont last long at those pressures AT ALL
More smoke, but surely they wouldn't sacrifice grip levels for some smoke show? Seeing as how the cars here which are apparently running 30'ish, make shit loads of smoke anyway.
D1GP = Show
so yes.... they are all about making more smoke.
anyway im not going to get into an argument about it.. im just letting you know my back to back findings... 28 psi was very very grippy... too much grip for my set up and 40 psi was the perfect balance of grip/slip for the power levels that i had (190 rwkw in a ke70) and this was dry.
in the wet i went ultra low pressures and it preformed really well... until i came up against cars with R1R's lol
have heard some jap d1 competitiors use semi slicks so would make sense if there pumping 40+ pounds into those tyres, am using khumo ku31's atm good grippy using 40pounds in them could go less next time as always wanting to get grippier, anyone been using 595's federals are they good? anyones thought would be killer ta
They dont use semis, they use R compund road tyres, eg: RE01R, DIREZZA Z1, ADVAN NEOVA etc etc.
treadwear of 150 ~180 compared to semis of < 100

any particular reason? just noticed a few people down here are using them lately....
i'm not in any way trying to jaw off, i'm genuinely interested as to why you think people shouldn't?
NEAR MISS
lloydalicious you should ask alex about his experience with 595's. they are so shit. he got like 2 laps out of them before they just chunked out and started delaminating.
i remember johhny k mentioning they feel like they wobble around on the back end. alex had the same
you will find the majority of guys that have success with 595's are those that are running 17's and they also fit them so the tread pattern runs in opposite rotation.
for me its proxy 4's pumped to 40psi. they are pretty grippy, just have to work it a bit more
