    Actually 2ur-gse is a 5 litre v8. Makes 311kw. 2gr looks good though.

Prolly have better luck with 4GR-FE's in a few years. The IS250 has been extremely popular, and when they start reaching 10 years old it should be easy enough to find them at the wreckers. Keep your eyes out, they're freaking everywhere. Really not a bad car either, excellent luxury and come with a Lexus badge, leather interior, etc, and are only ~$57,000 for a manual. Would prefer one to say an SS Commodore, which are similarly priced.

One of my mates (here in Brisbane) actually just finished putting a 1MZ-FE into an MR2 SW20. He actually bought a cheap NA SW20 (having owned a VERY quick MR2 in the past) and bought a Camry with 1MZ-FE that some crazy had strapped a TRD supercharger to. Transplant happened, and he only had to change one out of the three engine mounts. Got another engine for the Camry from the wreckers and flipped it off with bugger all loss too. Haven't had a ride in it, but apparently it's very quick and very fun. Have heard of people putting them into AW11 MR2's as well...

EDITED: My mate actually put a 1MZ in his SW20. Apparently the main differences between the 1MZ and 3VZ are that the 1MZ is pretty much fully alloy and weighs bugger all, while the 3VZ only has an alloy head, and is very prone to headgasket problems.

    Holy thread revival, batman.

I like this idea. Slydar, did you ever get around to the conversion, or investigate it enough to the point where you decided it was too hard/too much money?

The 3VZ/1MZ engines sound awesome and move a 1400kg Camry at pretty decent speed. They should go awesome in a ~900kg AE86.

I have to disagree, 3071 is a huge turbo. That's just too much power/motor for an AE86, unless you're only driving in a straight line (which is a pretty boring use of an AE86, imo) it wouldn't be worth it.

Some nice custom headers and exhaust and if you wanted to go crazy, an ITB set up should have the engine lively enough. Probably easiest to cut up two sets of Hayabusa throttles for the ITB's as I assume, without searching google that everything on these engines would either be huge dollars or custom made.

A turbo would be good if you were putting one into an A7/A8 Supra, Cressida, Soarer etc.
