    following on from

well despite the poll, I bought a ae71 for the grand sum of $150.

first impressions werent good, the body looked banged up, but it just looks bad beause I don't know if it's been washed in the past 12 months hahah, there is only one major bit of rust... that being in the spare tyre well. otherwise there is bits of surface rust... (nothing 20min of elbow grease wont fix). the good bits. it's an ae71 :greenbounce: . the 4AC was rebuilt 1.5years ago (they even gave me the receipt) the t-50 is the best gearbox I've driven. smooth as silk. the clutch is good! will do for a while... grabs like no tomorrow (I couldnt slip it, so yah, certainally decent enough).

firstly I was going to reshell all the goodies, but I figured that we would try and register the car.. (seriously it's only like a days worth of work.) because all the stuff that needs fixing is a steering bush thingy (see techniqual section for my question) and the bits of rust.

the car came with a 5 month old big fuckoff batery, tacho dash (obviously), 1 month rego (meh), and a fresh 4AC all for the grand sum of $150.

they origionally wanted $300... but I drilled them down into the ground... and there we were handing over $150 for the car heh. I <be>drove the car the 125km trip </be>home, ill say it again.. it cost f***ing $150. lol, got bargain?

anyway, first step is for the car to be made roadworthy. then ill make another poll to see what the collective mind of 86dc reckon the next step should be.

now for the all important teaser, the spy shot

prop's to the driftke70 answering his phone, I was hesitant to buy it (given the folks reaction, lolz) but I called beall and from another person sayin we'd be dicks not to buy it... logic, and common sense prevailed however, our front lawn in brisbane now consists of two ke70's (decent shell, shitbox driveline), flatmates TA22 celica, a celica GT4 and now a ae71. turning into a bloody caryard.

you never said anything about a spirit!

Spirit model has a full sick wing and racing stripe... You could probably find some hoon, and sell him that kick spoiler for more then you purchased the automobile.

    righto

finally got some decent shots of the car up.....

seems the previous owner dropped something on the bonnet, given the dint. atm the grill is held on by chicken wire... and i dont know how to secure it properly for RWC. the body is reasonably straight.

a shot of the passenger side. also reasonably straight.

a shot of the rear end. the rust has already been cut and patched... i will bog it up, prime and paint it later.

a shot of the reasonably mint interior that will stripped to nothing no cracks in dash or anything.

would this be the cause of some shaky / sometime knocking steering?

aids. how the fuck do i fix this... its the only thing left to fix, otherwise its pretty much ready for rwc

a close up of the aids.

thats basically the car so far guys. anyone that knows how to fix said aids would be really great to tell me how... because as you'd imagine, it needs to be done for the roadworthy cert.

    cheers
