    hey guys

flatmate has been threatened that people would tow away his car because he parks in a visitors carpark for work.

anyway, assuming the handbrake is on, and the car is in gear... (rwd) and he parks 'reversed in' the carpark... assuming one follows through with the threat, how do they tow the car? do they completely jack the car up and put it on moveable stands, given the rear wheels wont move?

The don't car about the car, a tow truck will pull it on to the tray in any way possible.

I'm far from being an expert, probably google it. I'm sure it's happen enough times for someone to write about it.

my mates mR2 got stolen once, all they pinched were the verrrry nice volk rims that were on it, so when the tow truck rocked up and towed it, they just dragged it along the ground, buckeling the 2 rear axels and putting two flat spots in the brand new drilled and slotted front discs rotors!!from what driftspec said..they don't care..

All tilt tray trucks have winches, those winches will pull ANYTHING, so a car being in gear or having the handbrake on will in fact do SHIT ALL. A lot of the time if a car is parked illegally and the police or authorities want the car removed then the towie will just break into the car and take the car out of gear and undo the handbrake and it's all down hill for the car owner then.

nah nah you can get those lil things you put under each wheel, then like jack the wheel up. like a rolling stand under each wheel, making the car totally mobile...

sero look at any clearway zones in the arvo and watch for towtrucks moving cars, heaps of tow trucks I see even used these, they just tow the front and put these rolling stands under the back wheels and wallah.. too easy

or ring up a tow truck tell em ya car is broken down and it's parked between 2 other cars, they will just bring them with them can't remember what you call them tho, but yeah it's pretty easy to move a car around with all wheels locked either handbrake or geared..
