I've got webber 40's on my street car and love every minute of it. The response, rawness and sound is just amazing! Yes it can be a pain in the arse sometimes with change in temp and humidity but if thats what you want to do, then do it. Remeber it's your car, not the people on the forum, build how you want it....

i used to run twin 45s and monster cams in the old 4ag i had in the gold 86. it was great most of the time except when you got caught in traffic it sucked badly. went bloody hard too and guzzled fuel like it was 1950's prices

i would say if its max power you want go 45s if you want something abit more streetable go down in choke size

actully someone out there has my old engine, last i saw it it was put into a red ae86 which was stock looking apart from front lip and alot of stickers on it

anyone know the car or owner? it would be easy to tell if its my old engine as it had a custom airbox on the 45s

it just depends on what you like. if you like old school, like me then you will go carbs.

i like carbs. go for it mate

Keihin FCR carbs are all the rage in japan for NA tuners. theyre a quad carb quad throttle body setup. in the states they use them for 2L drag bikes. theyre harder to tune but when you got them singing the same song theres nothing better.

only downside i can see with carbs is no rev limiter. and i LOVE my rev limiter

all i can say is, if you want to run carbs, are u prepared to put up with the maintanence involved, ill admit they're cool but they come with a price.

to keep it running mint, ull have to stay on top of cleaning and tuning, otherwise ull keep goin backwards, i know with the traileys ive owned to keep them goin sweet i used to pull carbs down after evey run, yeh its on the dirt, it may not be a frequint on a car, but are u prepared to do this urself or fork out the bucks for someone else to do it.

considering staying efi, all u really need to do is occaisionally change plugs, filters, and run some premium fuel thru it, to keep it goin strong.

just take that stuff into account

Firstly you have to ask yourself why you want to go carbies over injection.. Your economy will go to shit, your wallet will get lighter and your car will NOT go faster than an EFI 4qge. EFI is a fantastic thing.... The only gain one will get from carbies is that throaty note....

I had twin carbs on my old ke70.. Sounded great, but they were the most tempremental pricks in the world... A huge pain in the arse.. not to mention the costs of tuning and rebuilding.....

    EFI ftw!
