Havent quite got around to finishing it off, need to rebuild the XS650 motor and start fabbing up all the gear it needs.
CB400 front with twin disks, XS650 rims, sportster tank, XS650 motor, 38mm twins carbs, hand built frame, hand built chain guard and electrics box etc
my little pocket rocket for the time being will upgrade next year some time. was thinking of gixer 750 or maybe go all the way and join the litre gang. dunno yet hmmmm????
I've got a '78 Suzuki GS550, it's got bigger carbs, 2-1 dual exhausts, bored to 580 etc.
It did go like a rocket. When it was going. It was Dad's, he hasn't ridden it in years so I inherited it lol
It needs rebuilt carbies, new coils, plug and leads and a set of rings probably wouldn't hurt either
After having always wanted a dirtbike i finally got one this year (only been wanting one for like 15 years hahaha).
Mostly got it cos mates who used to ride were getting back into it and it's not exactly a solo sport.
I bought a KTM 250 EXC 2 stroke for $500 and rebuilt the motor. So the engine is fresh, the wheel bearings, brake pads etc etc are all fresh too so although it looks a bit rough it's solid as. It's a 1997 model and to be honest in some areas they havn't changed much between then and now! The motors are very similar, same brembo brakes etc. mostly differences in the frame and suspension on the newer ones.
Great fun, 3rd gear slides everywhere, I like .
I also picked this up (impulse buy haha), it's a Husqvarna TE610 converted to super motard using SM610 parts (wheels and brake). It's not regoed and needs a bit of work (new timing chain and new rear wheel spacers) but it's learner legal and should be awesome to ride (scary perhaps haha). Not had time to work on it of late though, busy with my KTM and my two cars.
when are we hitting up magees?
Neb, you'll have insane amounts of fun on that.
I had a 525exc road rego'd and even on motocross tyres I could still shred through the twisties. I could easily outride a roadie through twisties...but more open roads are a different matter. Still managed to crack 160km/h on it though.
