FC 4tw.. I have one and it's a very good car...
but then I wouldn't choose it over a Trueno...
Different cars, can't compare.. an FC was tackling the higher end of the market 'supercar'. AE86's were meant to be targetted for a lower budget that still wanted joy out of driving.
They are both awesome cars, close your eyes and pick.

only wakers own rotaries, and 180 are ugly. smart fuckers ditch the rotard for a far more superior piston for example an sr

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gunbz-r @ Jan 6 2008, 02:19 PM) </div>Whats the point of owning an rx7 if your not going to keep the rotor?
You can make heaps of power out of them and they sound awesome, if you want an SR just go a S13 or something >.>

Personaly i'de got with the FC, always loved them and i love the sound of rotors.

hey guys thanks for the input. went for a drive in the rx7 and it felt good. power was their nice and liner...felt sotta like a na car . grip was crazy (for its age and worn out suspension) ummm it felt tight inside but im an asian small guy so ill be right.

being reading up on them as well and it seems mazda had grip in mind when they were build the rx7 and it does show. it was really well blance. i also tried taking around some roundabouts and i did get it to come out a bit but wasnt really fun, im guessing due to bad suspension and worn lsd . braking was really good and would of been better with upragded pad and rotors ... engine seem strong and healthy ... but the rebuild or strip and clean with new seals will still be done for the pice of mind.

so it would seem that if i did go that way and 16k later i would have a pretty decked out rx7 . with new suspension, fresh motor and stronger body (still gonna do the seam welding)

ummm later on this arvo im hoping i will get a chance to go see this truneo from irish man paul. illl let you guys now if i get a good buzz from the trueno.

oh i also have a lighten fly wheel coming for the trunoe i dont have ( this was a impluse buy i did, when i thought i was sure i wanted a trueno) ... so is this a sign that a truneo is the way to go... ???? LOL

all the above comments a true to a certain depth .... the rx7 is a more superior car then the 86. or tho like some of you guys here i like the under dog tag and the fact that you can drift a na car purely on skill rather then power.

some history about my self. my 180 was a type x 97 model . deck out with the basic . 2way lsd, cucso coilovers, castor rods, 5 stud convo , gtr brakes ,basic bolt on power mod, front mount , s14 bb jdm turbo , injectors , apexi power fc , exhusat . and was pretty good setup and more then enough for a newbie drifter like myself . alot of ppl on the track said to me to boost it up for more power . but funny enough the faces they got when i said i had plenty of power already was price less. hence i was driving a shitter 4ac powered blue sprinter as my first car (yes ive had 2 sprinter in the past) and lernt the basic drift from my red one. so you could see that my histroy has basicly been sprinters and under power cars.

and after the the 180 was written off.. it was hard to get over it and finally the motivation has come back after reading countless member rides and alot of the motivation has came from everyones rides and how much time they have put into it.

my only concern is that drifting is a passion of mine, driving in general and i hope one day i will get good enough to compete in the state level , but seeing as most australian track need big power and na cars cant match the wide and flowy corners that australian track have on offer, i would imagine i would be out classed very quickly even if i had the skills of takumi , at the end of the day a 500hp 180sx or 1000 hp monaro is a fast car + the tracks australia has to offer the tiny na trueno of 100hp cannot compete. and as shown by most sprinter driver in drift aus. they have either a trubo 4age or a v8 in their enigne bay and tho they are very tanlted and amazing drivers they had to turbo it or changed engine to play with the big boys... looking at other drifitng countires usa and japan . i think japan d1 car are the only ones that have some na cars competing but they only remain competive is cause of the track layout they use in japan d1. but even then i dont think a na car has ever come 1st in the d1 championship.

so as i think of it more.... poilting a rx7 might be the way to go, however another thought is turbo the truneo (tho i would like to keep na) ????

sorry for the extra long post. will im gonna wait for the phone cal then im off to go see this na monster and ill let you guys know what my thoughts are and mayb finally make up my mind.

feel free guys to post up your thoughts...

ae86hachirouko- ive read your member's ride thread . and man i love what you have done to your car and watched some you tube of your car . i just wanna say also that build ups like yours is what make me wanna go and stick with a na setup .

only time will tell i guess. is your rx7 a daily car? cause that was also another i idea i had. since the rx7 was so damn cheap use it as a daily instead of my shitty ae92.

If you are planning on using if for drift, the trueno would be much easier, because mazda always planned the RX7s to have grip, which makes them good for circuit.

Thats not to say you cant drift it, it will just cost you a bit.

My 2 cents: go the trueno

twin charge a GZE in an adm sprinter, enough cash left over for serious suspension work, and driveline (w58 T series etc.), probably even enough left for a nice paint job and kit.

thats what i would be doing.

    or nutter 200hp Trueno (n/a)
