    hey dudes and dudetts.

i've spent a bit of time thinkin where to go next with the spriter, and how to get this build goin again. i lost my way due to excessive hours of work, over 80hrs a week is what ive been workin, which rreally sux but ahwell, i still love it.

but anyway, my delima is do i work with where i am with the build (which im not that happy with), or do i pull it back apart and start again and make sure everything is done th way it should of been, none of the work is dodgey (apart from the firewall) but i just dont think its right the way it is and it could be done alot better, now i have a daily i can take my time and do it all again and do it 100% right the first time and not rush it.

i have come to the conclusion that i shouldnt skimp out on quality just because its my car, and not a customers that i would spend hours makin sure it all is perfect, pretty and functional. i deserve it i ve worked hard enough for it so why not.

    so what would u do?
would u take a step back find the mistakes and fix them and be on ur way, and deal with the small things ur not happy with?

or would u pull the fuka to bits, catalogue everythig that could be done better, and start again?

i just dont want to see it all go to waste theres alot of my money in this car, i mean alot. i just want it right, but my inexperience has let me down, so guys what would u do?

What are you planning to do with the car?

If your drifting it, then obviously pretty is not part of our vocabulary here.

If your doing it to cruise, odd drift/track day but want it to stay clean and mean for years to come, pull everything off, catalogue everything that can be done to make it perfect and build it from the ground up, sparing nothing. You said you have a daily, so there is no rush to get it going. If you do it so well that there is nothing to pick at for the next few years, how much more proud and enjoyable will it be to drive? Shitloads IMO.

If I had the time to do that with my car, I would...

If I was going to thrash the arse out of it on the track and smack into walls in the name of driving progress, make it work and go have some fun.

    Something to think about anyways.

youll never be happy untill you fix all the things you dont like.
use this time as a dummy fit so you know were everthing will go and all the wiring is the write lenght, set it all up then pull it apart and make it perfect and pretty.
remember you always have time unless your dying or something, dont rush it.

thats the other issue, spend the time makin a street car, or go nuts and just build a track car, which i should do, but i want to be able to drive when i want to so it has to be a street car, i think too much lol

Build your car so you could in theory enter tarmak rallys or Improved Production racing. Read those rules.

Then you end up with a car that can enter lots of events, you keep your options open, and can drive on the street. (Assuming a tarmak rally car can drive on the street in your state).

just gotta find the time to do it, oh and the money

but just another thought i could remove all the drift/grip bits and go drag racing lol, at least i know how to do that

if your building the car to look pretty, then take it all apart and start over
if your building the car to thrash and have fun with, i wouldn't recommend taking her apart and doing everything "properly"

the last thing youd want is to spend a year or two building her up slowly for a thrash car, and then to put it into a wall or have some one spin out into your car on the track

think about what you want to do with the car

from reading this threa i think u have answered ur own question with what u said above here.

if u have the time and resources then i say take it apart and build it up properly like it IS a customers car. that way you know you are going to like what u finish in the end and it will be extremely rewarding once your done.
    cheers.

go back, start again.... make it neat

ive made this mistake in a way, i bought a car with good looking paint but its shit, my car has a small bit of rust which im not happy with

ive had my engine bay bare for a year and a bit, and now once i got it all running and driving a few weeks ago and ive decided to respray the whole car, so everything will be pulled back out, loom will be rerouted and engine bay sprayed and everything i could have done then will be done, and i will be happy with the car

so IMO it will be worth all the time IF u are happy with everything on the car once its finished
