Had a couple of run-ins, been defected but i kinda deserved that. I find if you are honest and polite they leave you alone.
First time, i was driving my old 3 door Swift. Was about 4 different colours (in the middle of painting it), no interior, loose front bar, exhaust leak etc. I ran a red light, they pulled me over and gave me the defect, were really picky I got about 21 defects, but no fines and no demerit points. Sold the peice of crap for parts so I didn't do too bad, they could of done me for alot worse.
Second time was a few weeks ago, I do block release TAFE in the city, and i'm on the road for about 6 hours a day. It was late in the afternoon and i was <1k from home doing 90 in a 70. I actually cut off the undercover cop car, without indicating and I only had one P plate on. So when he pulled me over i was honest, yes I know I was speeding I'm just tired and I want to get home. He could tell i was tired, so he let me off for the other 2 offenses and I got fined for failing to indicate. Chances are if I was an arsehole i would of gotten fined for all 3 offenses, which is 7 points so I would of lost my license.

    My worst story:
When I was in the supra club, we did a formal drop off for a group of girls and their partners. there was a group of ten mark4 supras, we were dropping them at riverside Brisbane, and just did a detour through the CBD at 7 or so on a Friday night so the girls got the most out of the ride and got to have everyone looking at them which they loved.

As we were just heading up the main strip Steve (at the back) who had a pretty loud exhaust on a Non Turbo, fed it a little in first then changed quickly, nothing really out of the ordinary. Next thing we know we had a squad car pull us all over. He called in for a few more cops and we had 2 bikes and an old traffic "specialist" come in for blackup, as ten white boys and girls in formal dresses can really get out of hand.
We asked what the problem was, but they wouldnt answer us and just talked amongst themselves, we explained that we were taking the group to a formal which was about 500m away at that point.
Then, before we know it, the cops started reaming us and accusing us of "racing" dangerous illegally modified cars through the city.
Steve fessed up that he was the one that fed it in first, no-one else had done anything but crawl along, the cop told him he had been breaking the speed limit (he wasn't even there when we were pulled over). Steve explained that he was in first and changed to second, and that he can only do about 50km/h in first in an NA.
Cop went on a 5 min speel about how 1970s Toranas could do 120km in first gear and that was he calling him a liar and that you don't know shit you little punk... blah blah yelling, going off his nut. maybe his wife had left him that morning who knows.

Some of the girls were getting a bit distressed now as the police were being a bit aggressive and this was in the middle of the CBD with a crowd of onlookers.
Luckily one of the guys was recording it all on a camera he was taking to the formal, and we told them after about 10 mins of their crap, which really shut them up, the arsehole was looking pretty worried at that point. They hadn't even booked us or told us what we were pulled over for.
End of story is we told them on camera that unless you are booking any of us we are leaving, and did so, except steve who had some bogus speeding ticket written up. Was quite lucky as some of the boys were running 500hp+ and could have been raped.

Told the head of our club who is a lawyer and he made a big fuss with the department, after he showed some of the footage to the police, which could have come across VERY badly on ACA or any other crappy current affairs show.

Best thing you can do for yourself is carry a dictaphone in your car if you are worried and record anything at all when you are pulled over. Deny everything.

ive only ever been pulled up 3 times, and all 3 i havent had a problem.

    just to give the jist

1st. riding my mini bike on the basket ball court of a school with no helmet on. cops pull up to point out that what i was doing was illegal, questioned me about the mini bike which i was straight up and honest about (could do 50km an hour etc). they just took my name down and pointed out that i could be slapped with $1600 worth of fines if they wanted to go to town on me, all in all they were fine towards me but sorta had the good cop - bad cop thing going on. one of them was fascinated by this little bike, he seriously had no idea what an engine looks like. i could have told him it was electric and he would have beleived me.

2nd. in my old mazda 626 i swung the ass out on a blind corner and ofcourse there just had to be cops on the other end, so i immediately pulled over (this was before hoon laws) ready to cop it on the chin. cop was polite and said he wasnt going to book me because i didnt make them chase me. he checked my licence, funnily enough his mum lives in my street and he was on patrol the night of my 18th birthday party so we had a good chat for about 5min and that was that

3rd. random pull over back when i had the stupidly loud exhaust on. the copper was polite again, and looking over the exterior of my car, at the time the bumper was hacked from the previous owner for a intercooler, the copper says to me "is this thing turbo mate?" and i replied with " nah, it was before i bought it" which was convincing enough to him to not make me pop the bonnet. he had a squiz in the boot which was FULL of shit, not to mention a 3L surge tank and a bosch 044 fuel pump. he had a chuckle about the home wiring job of my stereo and not noticing the surge tank. then this hiace van comes wheel spinning out of a corner so he flags them down and lets me go

so im another fan of attitude gets you quite far when it comes to dealing with police

Here I am, half pissed playing cricket on Australia day at a local oval.

One of my friends was tanked and decided to look at the steamroller parked in the locked off carpark. Funnily enough, there were a set of keys in there. In he hops and drives it around meanwhile a resident across the road hears him beeping the horn and driving around on it. A few more friends turn up about half hour after this (myself included) and start playing cricket.

Two coppers turn up and ask if we knew anything. Say not really, just heard some dickhead was on a steamroller driving around. Then started having a conversation about how I could have caught the ball if a ran a little harder. He was a good one.

Got caught with a fake I.d a while back and had a fuckwit of a cop arrest me for walking home alone with a fakey. I still think that its absolute bullshit.

The only thing that gets me about them is getting a bretho at 10 in the morning. I mean for fucks sake, the pubs arnt even open then, and anyone who was having a piss up the night before would still be comatose! Geez, still gets me tho, so i tend to make a piont of it as much as i can

If I had to deal with fuck heads all day every day, I'd be rude too.

Not calling you a fuck head, but you know how many fuckwits cops have to put up with?
Dead shits, criminals, druggo's, violent cunts, disrespectful people.

If I was a cop I'm sure I'd have a hard time putting the effort into being polite to every one I spoke to as well.

ive had some ace cops, one pulled me over and wanted to talk about the car i was driving, at first i was weary as he was asking about suspension , but turned out he owned an EVO 6 track car, he saw the car and wanted to know who was did the exhause system etc, was pretty chilled, but in my experience, Most Bike cops are fuck heads, seem to have it out for modified cars, something about riding around on cold days in a pair of cream jodphers and a gay blue leather jacket must make them angry

    COPS ARE MILDLY TOPS

    lolz... want pics... !!! mk1?

im going to chime in here as well...

had 15x11-26 hannging fowl quite a bit out of the guards so much that they were rubbing a bit and the bike cop heard it from a few cars back, pulls me over with epic amount of rage telling me its going home on a car tralier and ive lost my licence... i killed him with kindness, appoligised, ended up with a 150$ fine and -3 points and turned a blind eye when i said i lived about 3kms away...

"now... im going to leave now, and i sugest you get this home, and if you get pulled over again its your own fault" or something to that effect.
