LOL mines identical to that.
can't wait to get spacer in now
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ToySprinta @ Jul 12 2008, 06:14 PM) </div>Correct, there aren't enough teeth in the rack as dave said. Although I have read somewhere that you can put one lock spacer in the left side of the rack and re-centre the pinion gear to the rack, giving you a bit more lock. I don't know how true this is though.
The only other option is to get the rack machined with more teeth, but this can be costly..

can't do much about the rail though......
yeah lol ive smash mine heapsss still hits though. no biggie should be better when i throw in the xt130 lcas
hmmm, faster steering or more lock.....
cut more teeth into quaife and have best of both worlds
then
its harder to steer
then you get bigger muscles
then you get more vagin!!!!
so its a win x3
it is a bit of a quandry r.e the quick rack vs lock
i really like the quick rack and am happy with the level of lock i have just with p/s arms
the more competitive (read: skilled) drivers may have the need for the lock though over the quick steering. brett has extra teeth cut in his quaife rack to take full advantage of the lock an S13 front end can provide, he is a demon steerer any advantage he can get anywhere is put to good use.
Lawson's plan of attack is the best one. they aren't much harder to steer at all, no where near as bad as is made out.
