Broken wheel nut (Need tips on removal)

Hi,

Bought a car the other week that has cheap wheels and nuts and one of them is broken (refer to picture)

How would you remove it?

I was just going to drill small holes in it since it's light alloy and chisel it till it breaks, or is there a better way..

You risk damaging the wheel if you drill the nut.
I'd try getting a old socket and smashing it onto whats left of the nut then taking it off with a breaker bar.
If that fails prob better to just drill the stud (along with the nuts thread) out with a good quality metal bit.
You'll have to get a new stud after tho obviously.

Remember to use a low speed an lots of cutting oil/grease/material on the drillbit.

Okay thanks guys i will give that a go by drilling it well lubricated and then replace the stud afterwards.

Try using a big socket first, you might get lucky.

I have jad a similar problem. I welded a bar onto the nut then gpt it off, of all else fails take it to a mechanic lol

Tighten the other 3 wheel nuts more then chisel that one counter clockwise
