the trick to getting to the starter on that engine is to remove its heat shield
Couldn't get my fat arse hands in to plug the solenoid wire in and tighten the cable for the starter,
Yea i know that was the old welding cable i used when i first fired the motor up, I've got a 140 amp 6 guage cable running through the heater holes now, where the HT leads go through..

I found that out after I got it all out haha, ah well, I ran a cable tie around the wire and around the starter so it shouldn't slip off again..
Drove down to pick up the diff from Joel and saved about $400 on postage costs, plus spent the rest of the day at the beach.. score.
had the diff mounted up that same night, exhaust is now done, tail shaft done, clutch slave&master done.
SFA left to go now, few brake lines to do and some wiring, dash board, fuel tank plumbing finished and then go over the whole car and make sure everything is all tight and done properly. tow it for wheel alignment and bring the bogan out in my self for a test skid.
Few random pics, in no real order.. Feel free to laugh at the runs in my paint haha
done a little bit on this, fuel system nearly done, just have to get a few straight fittings, some bulkhead fittings, a 45 degree and a carter lift pump or the like.. Have a few cheap barb style fittings but even after grinding the barbs down they still don't fit properly.. Not to mention look shit.
dash is pretty boring but ah well, does the job until I find the effort to fiberglass one... just have to sort out all my wiring for switches etc, I've got ignition and push start sorted
Im going to be scared when you get to drive this, the sound it will produce will be amazing
Started it up tonight, with full exhaust, fresh 98 fuel and everything hooked up properly it sounds fuking insane... So in love haha. Just have to get cusco engine mounts, put some gear box oil in and setup the clutch slave and I'll be able to take it for a test drive

Ordered the remaining speedflow fuel fittings as well as some more bulkhead fittings to run the fuel hose through the firewall properly, ordered a carter silver series pre pump for the surge with 3/8 npt to -8 adaptors, p clamps to tie down the hoses running through the cabin. So that's the fuel system sorted.
Bought 3 litres of penrite g/box oil, should be enough for a w58?
Also got chrome DX bars ordered, front one isn't going to fit but one day I will get hypertune to move the intercooler in and up a bit so i can run front apron and bars to make it more popo friendly ... THIS THING WILL BE STREET REGISTERED
next pay day I'll be ordering cusco engine mounts and a few other bits. Keen as a jar of mustard.
