Yeh you can tell em what day you want the permit to start and what day you want it to end, pay the fee and all is sweet as long as you follow the guidelines.

im looking at selling a car, ive got someone interested but they need temp reg,
does anyone know if your able to get temp rego and have it active as of a later date, e.g a weekend ?

you know if your able to put it under someone elses licence no# ? trying to arrange it for this fella coming down from nsw he wants it for sunday
you should be able to say its for the sale of the vehicle and theyl put heres down
or the future buyer can organise it by calling vic roads with the car details
Give the future owners the details and they them to ring up. The vicroads site says they will fax out the temp rego, however, my friend was able to get one via email
Interstate use
You can drive interstate with an Unregistered Vehicle Permit if this condition is specified on your permit.
You do not need a permit from VicRoads if your journey starts interstate and finishes in Victoria. Check with your local vehicle registration authority if you need an interstate permit before you drive.
