    Default Jip's Kesev

so the story goes like this...
I bought this little number off the local council at auction as the car was dumped, for the ridiculously high price of $20. no, thats not a typo

its a 1981 auto SE in midway blue with an equally beautiful blue interior. propper granny spec, it even had a crochure hook under the back seat
so after i got it home and pulled the column apart so i could start it, (as i had no key) i realized the battery was fingered. so $150 and about an hour later with a little fuel dribbled down the carbie she ran like a dream.
Then i got some tyres off a mate, spent $50 getting them fitted/balanced and replaced the gearbox extension housing oil seal because it leaked. when i fixed the rust in the back window and fitted the locks and ignition barrel off the AE71 Spirit that i bought off a mate for $100 i got her rego'd.

didn't take long for someone to spot them.
short term 4ac out of spirit so i can get rid of the rusty pos and get mine mobile again. i'm doin the sussy now as well as the 4ac swap because ive got the house and more importantly the shed to myself for the next 4 weeks.

then 7age, smallport head, st quads, cams etc its about 90% finished. unfortunatly no one i know has a degree wheel so i can dial in the cams i might have to buy one

    engine bay finished.
280 deg cams and open quads sounds glorious and its a cranky little thing with the cams set at 104/104.

so now the excuses for such a shit time,
-i'd only just changed the cam timing from 110/110 to 104/104 and hadn't tuned it properly yet so it coughed and nearly stalled
-the gearbox crunches if you try and do a fast gear change (its had a hard life)
-the next run it didn't cough but spun one wheel with the open borgy anyway (i actually ran .1 slower!)

so then i decided it doesn't make enough power so i bought one of these

but first i need to finish putting this together, f series from a mk 2 corona...

with kaaz lsd, 4.56:1 gears and s13 calipers/discs.

    so haven't updated in awhile,
flared front guards and fitted ajps front lip,

bought a fully rad muffler to make it quieter,

swapped out the t3 ps arms and ncrca's for ajps modded corona arms and ajps 40mm rca's,

i bought the front struts with a coilover fit fitted with koni yellow shocks. the seals on the shocks went so i bought a new set, for a rav 4 actually

finally pulled my finger out and finished the f series, i made a concentric ring for the rotors and modded the original ke70 hand brake cables with the ends from the s13 ones and made them shorter to suit (not in pic),

found a nite parts bell for a good price so fitted that too,

made a gbox mount and had a 1 piece tailshaft made. I used an inclinometer to get the angle of the gbox the same as the diff flange, that's why mine hangs lower than some others (still nearly 100mm of clearance).

fitted a saas fixed back seat i got cheap.

sc12 not on yet, i wanted to start drifting it n/a and add the power as i need it.

I've got arp main and head studs to go in when i rebuild it for lower comp and i just bought a 175mm dampened crank pulley for it as well for more booooost when i need it.
