Hey guys,
Great forums here guys, and the people i've met also great, so thought i'd throw up my first AE86 i've just bought. The car may be familiar to some of you, as it was partially built by hachi_dk, then sold to Terry on these forums, who unfortunately for him couldn't keep it for as long as he would have liked.
I'm new to all these cars, and terms, but don't hold that against me, i've wanted an AE86 for a long time, but with other toys in the garage it was never possible. I've had some high powered cars such as a 600hp XB falcon, and have borrowed my cousins 350rwkw XR6 Turbo ute, since my Detomaso Charade spun a bearing.
I rebuilt the charade, and was 80% through the turbo build when this 86 Levin came up for sale.
Viewing these forums, and finding it's build thread through a stroke of luck, i bought the car sight unseen from Terry in Melb. A week later, i flew down to Melb, then after a quick pitstop on the hoist at my work's other branch down there, and given the all clear, i drove it back up to NSW.
No misfortune on the drive back, got lucky at an early stop, had a walk around the car, and the front Kouki lip had come loose in the middle, so a few zip tie's and she was back on the go.
The engine never missed a beat, but the diff howls like a banshi, giving me a bloody headache after 8 hours, but the rest was all good, and not 1 police car the whole way.
Since getting it back, i've basically re-wired the stereo, re-fitted the consoles and dash, and after another week finally got it rego'd up here.

Just another Muppet
I've got some plans in the making, some pics up soon, but basically all i want is for it to look like this car, The CBY Levin.
I love the flares, not for everyone, but perfect imo.
So you plan to paint it panda?
Just another Muppet
Wouldn't take much to do it though, flares , bumpers ect allready done just sides and under taillights that need the black,
Or just rep what u have, just panda bumpers is nice the half panda look
Looks brilliant as is! More rear poke complete it.
Looks mad I was admiring this on carsales for a few weeks, cant wait to see what you do to it.
Hope you can come to some cruises & track days in the near future Trent.
Thanks boys. I'll be on a few cruises, but mostly track days and pan days, as i work quite a bit.
Yeah needs more rear, front looks sweet imo, would have to be huge to fill the rear. They are 14 x 8.5's already. Anyone know how big to get the rears to phatten out with the CBY flares, would you need a 15 x 10? and what offset?
Some more quick pics
