Spent some time today putting the brakes and shocks in the uprights. Also bolted up the lcas and steering arms with the rcas.

Need to spot weld the perches then Ill put the springs and tops on to finish them off. I realised the fabricator has removed the brake line clips so I need to find a pair of those from some dudded struts to attach also.

Put a little atf in the struts to help dissipate heat between the shock and the strut upright.

Did the gland nuts up super tight with a 36 inch steel pipe wrench.

Did a bit more today. Put the F diff into the chassis. Need to make 4 small bush adapters to make it work nicely. Plus 2 longer bolts, but yes it fits and clears where it should. Springs line up, shockys fit good, no issues to report at all so far. The top mounts neatly miss the panhard rod as it comes up. Not sure yet about the handbrake cable situation. Im wondering what others have done. I might need some ae86 or ke70 drum brake cables for it, if they fit the drum that is.

Why not? Put it under the centre console in the stock position, paint handle black, nobody would know any different and it'd be a sick handbrake

    They dont hold overnight.

I need it too, live in a hilly suburb and my driveway is seriously steep.

Did a bit more today. Been spending all my downtime at work on it. Had a 2 hour delay today so I finished bolting the F diff in, and I removed the bigport n t50 package from the car. Saw some seriously agricultural work on it from the previous owner. A PCV with no valve, and alternator wiring that had about 4 different power feeds run from the terminal on the alternator. Also, the bogan Boonah #### had simply bent the hard clutch line down all the way by hand and screwed it directly into the slave cylinder, so no rubber connection at all. It made it miss the headers but would have simply sheared in a few weeks use.

So anyhow, once the engine was out I made a couple of kerf cuts and pounded the front top centre corner of the tranny tunnel back inside out to get my bell housing bolt clearance.

Its great to have it rolling after a year and a half. The front suspension will be removed as it seems to be some nice lowered stuff. It has short stroke shocks which Im told are trd but I need to remove them to see. I rate the konis higher anyhow, so Ill stick with them. Im just curious to see what the bush mechanic did to pack the shorter shocks. Whatever it is, I certainly wouldnt drive on it without checking what kind of problems I could have. Then once they are apart I can take the cusco camber plates off, clean them, and use them to install the new coilovers into the chassis.

    PROGRESS!

    Bush mechanic lolz!

I don't see why it wouldn't hold overnight? Unless there is a slow leak somewhere.
