11:1 pistons and tidy up the ports and chambers.
What are you having done to the fresh motor>?
11:1 pistons and tidy up the ports and chambers.
Oil cooler setup is all done. Very happy with it!
Time for updates.
Got robbed in this car, car ended up with a dent in the door. Long crazy story that ended with me driving off with a junkie hanging out the window.
Had it in to the panel shop, and had it fixed. Got bonnet and cap done at the same time.
Also had the window reg fixed at the same time.
Made a new throttle cable, cut up a ke70 cable and used the Venhill 2mm 'clutch; kit. Top stuff, Teflon lined galvanised braid. Just made a super long one to take all the tension out of the cable. Added an extra throttle spring, and synced up the itbs and got the best idle to date.
Car has been lowered up and down in the search for the right height. I think I'm happy now, although I can get the front to scrub if I get a big G out. Part of this process involved remaking the exhaust from the headers back. Its a mandrel bent 2.5 system, just like before except I added a high flow magnaflow stainless cat. Just to avoid another incident where I get taken off the road. Re used the muffler and resonator and just had the pipe work redone. Car sounds about the same, maybe a little less rasp. Goes just the same too.
Spent a while chasing a coolant leak, ended up just being a bung that needed to be tightened down in the back of the head. This lead to me removing the heater circuit, which is fine to do on 2azfe cause it has an internal bypass and warms up the same.
Been looking into rev limiter settings. Since the thing rips to the limiter, I think I'm gonna try and put it up to 7000 rpm at the drags next week and see if it breaks. I have found reports of 7500 on a built turbo motor, and 7200 regularly on a supercharged stocker, and no reported issues, so I'm going to assume my NA set-up is gonna love it. Curious to see if it signs off between 6500 and 7000. If it can turn 7000 and make peak power at those rpms, then thats a higher peak hp than a stock 20v except you can easily pull 3.58:1 gearing where a 20v only really felt fast with a 4.7 rear end.
I you think about it, the k24 Honda motor does over 7000 revs with 3mm more stroke. If it makes power there with my setup, why not rev it.
Wifey managed to back into this at home and ruin the front lights and bumper. Its being fixed up with Shannons insurance. Got a set of kouki lights on the way, and the bar will be repaired, and the front of the car needs to be jigged straight. Freshly dont bonnet will need to be redone.
Hub Dyno on the unopened motor as it currently is tuned.
