Default ae71 air con stuff into ae86?

does anybody know first hand that all the air con gear from a ae71 pano with fit into a ae86? the main question is will a 4ac aircon setup work with a 4age, i know the pully on the compressor is different but is the rest of it about the same?

Ae71 use a different compressor, and afaik the pulley cannot be changed to a multi rib one. However the stuff should still bolt up, just how you run the belt is the problem.... Maybe do try the way mentioned on the toymods page, or perhaps machine a rib off the crank pulley to make a v-belt groove

visually they look the same, they should not cost much. best to just have a go if you can gets the bits cheap enough, spread the word if it works or if it does not =)

Yes, the evaporator bypass pipe from AE71/KE70 definitely will work. Done it 5 times.

As for Geoff's question though. The only thing AE86's and AE71's share in common with their AC systems is the evaporator.

Trying to fit AE71 gear on a AE86 the problems you'll encounter:
-No readily available 5PK pulley to suit the AE71 compressor (that I know of)
-Mounting an AE71 condenser may be tricky as it isn't very similar to an AE86 condsensor.
